Hold of MAP Plus Award Announcements
ISAC continues to announce MAP Plus awards until projections indicate that the dollars appropriated will be exhausted by the number of awards already announced for the year. Applications received after this point are placed in award announcement hold. If it becomes necessary to hold the processing of award announcements in order to remain within appropriated funding levels, such action is applied concurrently to all students.

Hold of 2006-07 MAP Plus Award Announcements

Due to limited funding and a high volume of eligible applicants, MAP Plus awards will be held for applicants whose initial 2006-07 FAFSA is received by the federal processor on or after September 19, 2006. FAFSAs received at the federal processor on or after September 19th will be placed in a hold status and will not be released for MAP Plus award processing. Students otherwise eligible for MAP Plus, but whose award is being held, will not receive MAP Plus grant money.

Colleges that have been making announcements of MAP Plus awards to students, should discontinue making any additional announcements to students whose FAFSA receipt date is September 19th and later.

Identifying Records in Hold Status

Student records with MAP Plus awards in a hold status are indicated in MAPnet.  The "MAP Plus Suspend" code displays in  MAPnet on the "Student Detail", "Edit MAP Code" and "Student List Eligibility: View" screens and is included as a selection option for viewing on the Filter screen. The field is also included on the MAP Plus Eligibility Report within MAPnet.

Identifying Student Records and Creating a Report

Schools may want to identify student records placed into a hold status for a variety of reasons (i.e., file review, packaging, etc.). MAPnet contains filters that will allow you to identify student records and create a report. Click here for the instructions to run a report of MAP Plus held student records using the MAPnet system.
