Prep for College Life
You’ll want your child to feel comfortable jumping into an entirely new way of life—meeting many new people, and adjusting to a new roommate. If your child has not lived independently before, this may be the first time cooking, taking care of finances, and taking full responsibility for cleaning, schedules and personal health. Do your best to encourage good study, eating and social habits now. But don’t be surprised if you get a call from your child asking anything from how to make eggs to how to do better on a test. Even though you may be several hundred miles away, you’ll always be the parent and you’ll always be expected to have the answers.
