HSSP Database
April - August
- High schools counselors can choose from one of three methods to provide the required sixth semester data (class rank, class size and unweighted GPA) to ISAC. The sixth semester is defined as the third semester prior to graduation.
- Electronically via the HSSP Electronic Delivery System (preferred method);
- Create their own school-generated paper roster; or
- Complete a paper roster provided by ISAC.
- Test scores are gathered from testing companies for the ACT and SAT exams taken during the students third and fourth semester prior to graduation.
September - November
- The required sixth semester data is gathered from high schools via the HSSP Electronic Delivery System or on a School-Generated Roster throughout September.
- In October, High schools receive the HSSP 6th Semester Academic Information Roster and Certification Form from ISAC if the required sixth semester data was not previously submitted via the HSSP Electronic Delivery System or a School-Generated Roster. If a high school submits the required HSSP data electronically or on a school-generated roster by the deadline, an ISAC-generated roster will not be generated.
- Submitting the required data prior to the September deadline will prevent ISAC from generating a roster, however, school-generated paper rosters will continue to be accepted through the end of October, and electronic submissions will be accepted through early November.
State Scholar Program
November
- ISAC sends the Certificates of Achievement and award letters to high schools.
December
- An online listing of State Scholars finalists, displayed alphabetically by high school, within the school's Illinois county, is available at College Zone.
January
- ISAC provides listing of names of State Scholars to Illinois colleges and universities that actively seek State Scholars for admission after the deadline to appeal a student's status passes, usually at the end of January.
Merit Recognition Scholarship Program
The Merit Recognition Scholarship (MRS) Program was not funded by the Illinois General Assembly in the fiscal year 2010 budget. As a result, eligible students entering college as freshmen in the fall of 2009 will not be receiving the scholarships.
Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program*
Spring
- ISAC announces Byrd Honors awardees. Award letters and Eligibility Certification Forms are sent to new and renewal awardees and Byrd Honors Final Announcement Rosters are sent to high schools after federal funding has been approved for the academic year.
*This is a federally-funded program that is administered by ISAC.
