2010-11 HSSP Processing Cycle
     - ISAC-Generated Rosters Mailed October 5, 2009
HSSP Electronic Delivery System

2010-11 HSSP Processing Cycle

HSSP 6th Semester Academic Information Rosters, HSSP Certification Forms and blank Rank-in Class Rosters [used to identify students who may be eligible for the State Scholar Program and the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program for the 2010-11 academic year] were sent on October 5, 2009 to Illinois high schools that did not submit sixth semester data via the HSSP Electronic Delivery System or on a school-generated roster.

Completed rosters, which aid in the identification of State Scholar recipients, were due back to ISAC on October 30, 2009. Instructions for completing the rosters were included in the mailing. Complete information regarding data submission, including required data, transfer students, disqualification codes and forms included in the mailing, is provided in the Required Sixth Semester Data section that is located within this area.

The announcement of State Scholar Finalists is scheduled for late November, 2009. An award letter will be mailed to each State Scholar Finalist and the Certificates of Achievements will be mailed to the high schools. An online listing of State Scholars finalists, displayed alphabetically by high school, within the school's Illinois county, will be available at College Zone in early December.

As was indicated in a October 6th e-Message, although school-generated paper rosters will be accepted, the preferred method for submitting data is through the HSSP Electronic Delivery process as part of the Illinois Electronic Transcript Exchange. Schools not yet participating in the ILTE process should submit a school-generated paper roster, or complete and return the ISAC-generated roster. School-generated paper rosters will continue to be accepted through the end of October, and electronic submissions will be accepted through early November

High Schools are strongly encouraged to sign-up for the HSSP Electronic Delivery System, which utilizes the Illinois Electronic Transcript Exchange Program system to transmit data. High schools utilizing the HSSP Electronic Delivery System must update their school profiles each year. Instructions for updating the school profile are provided in the HSSP Electronic Delivery System Quick Reference Guide

Schools not yet participating in the ILTE are encouraged to contact School Services to discuss ILTE participation for the 2011-12 HSSP processing cycle, to ensure that they will be prepared for when ILTE becomes the only method by which HSSP sixth semester data is submitted to ISAC.

HSSP Electronic Delivery System

The HSSP Electronic Delivery System provides a means for high schools to electronically submit sixth semester student data (used to determine eligibility for the High School Scholarship Programs [HSSP]) via the same portal used for the Illinois Electronic Transcript Exchange (ILTE). Benefits of the system include:

  • elimination of paper rosters
  • reduction in resources required to complete paper rosters
  • increased security of students' data
  • elimination of mail time and uncertainty of data reaching ISAC
  • fewer opportunities for data entry errors
  • easier revision/correction process
  • increased "green" efficiencies (environmental and financial) resulting from less paper and energy use

Feedback from high schools that participated in last year's HSSP Electronic Delivery System pilot program, has been overwhelmingly positive, and confirms the fact that the electronic process is much easier and more convenient than working with paper rosters. Participation is easy and adds only a few additional steps to the current process for sending electronic transcripts to colleges.

Detailed information regarding the HSSP Electronic Delivery System, including frequently asked questions, a recorded training presentation and a Quick Reference Guide, is available in the Job Aids & Reference Materials area (#12) of the e-Library, under Illinois Electronic Data Exchange Resources.

High schools interested in participating in the HSSP Electronic Delivery System program in academic year 2009-10 (for 2010-11 awardees) are invited to contact School Services at schoolservices@isac.org or at 866.247.2172.
